It constantly amazes me that people are unwilling to question authority and the media. I guess some of us are born with an innate skepticism and some of us are not? I know people want to be part of groups and fit in with communities, but to give up the ability to defend one's self and one's family is just beyond comprehension to me. I guess these folks believe in the good in all of us, and because it's such an idyllic place, they probably never thought something like this could happen to them? There is no doubt, the people of Roseburg lost their innocence yesterday.

I am hoping to be able to talk to our friends about this issue so that I can not only better understand where they're coming from, but to add my 2c's worth too. I just hope they don't have fanciful ideas about people of this country giving up their guns. If they do, it will be a short conversation.

I read that the people of Roseburg voted to keep the college gun free. I wonder if they'll keep that policy now?
Probably. They blame guns. The media underlines it. Police insist on it. Politicians emphasize

I saw there was a guy in another building who admitted to having a concealed pistol with him, but he opted not to go to the area of the shooting for fear the responders would think he was the shooter and take him out. He said there are a number of people on the campus who carry notwithstanding the gun free policy of the school.

I think a lot of people disregard "no gun" policies some businesses have.
