Kenny, focus on political shit. I knew you dumb-ass libs would blame this on warm oceans. That's why I posted this plot of sea-surface temperature off east coast of U.S. (a.k.a. Western North Atlantic Ocean) four days ago. Message 30257467 Warm oceans of course play a role...but in terms of anomalies, there's no trend over the last 80 years. In other words, nothing new. You can't blame a 'rare' event on conditions that have existed often over the last 80 years. The real factor is the upper-level, cold-core low. That was incredible. Add the ridge out of Canada that kept the low in place, which didn't allow the rain band to move up the coast. Here's the temperature anomaly map of the U.S. for Oct 1-3. This is all from the cooling.
