O.J. PIPELINES AWARDED CONTRACT IN EXCESS OF $200 MILLION BY ALLIANCE
PIPELINE

CALGARY, Dec. 22 /CNW/ - Ocelot Energy Inc. announces that its wholly
owned unit, O.J. Pipelines has been awarded a pipeline construction contract
in excess of $200 million by Alliance Pipeline. The project, Contract B,
consists of the new construction of 563 kilometres of 36-inch and 42-inch pipe
in the provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan. Construction, pending National
Energy Board approval, is scheduled from the latter half of 1998 through late
1999.

Ocelot Energy Inc. is a publicly traded international energy company
engaged in the exploration, production and marketing of oil and natural gas.
Ocelot Energy's Class B Subordinate Voting shares and Class A Common shares
are listed for trading on the Toronto, Montreal and Alberta Stock Exchanges
under the symbols OCE.B and OCE.A, respectively.
