To All from the Great White North: For the fun of it I drove to SOLV's site today. I understand that everything is still as it was pre-Chapter 11. The site has been winterized etc and there appears to be Security Guards working on-site. Not much new to report from here-now. Article in Fort McMurray Today paper about Petro Canada's New Oil Sands Plant projecting a 2000 start. I didn't know anything about this before. Plan to spend $250 Million for 20 000 BPD. It's SAGD (steam injuction) technology simular to Gulf's plant. The plant will be south west of Syncrude five km from Gibson's plant. For what ever reason this article isn't on Today's home page. There is also a story about a new Suncor Lease purchase close to SOLV in the Firebag area 40 km north of Suncor's existing plant (20 km from SOLV).
