Jer,

I am long where others are short and will go short where others on SI have been raving. I will trade this year end/Jan effect on the long side and short into strength during the first week in January. That's my view today.

Now let's see what Bill has to say! Take care.

Jerry,

Before you go bananas on us, I caution you that we do not EXACTLY know what ol Bern is talking about:

- MVA - I tried every average I had (6 different types) and none of them RELIABLY did what he said all the time...

- Where does he start counting and how much credit are we giving to the mini-crash of late October? After the spike to 55, the DOW moved up ONE (1) day, formed a DOJI star and sank the day after. Short term my _ _ _!

I will try to email you an example... and you can see what I mean...

Now MY adaptation of what he says works one heck of a lot better... as you will soon find out!

Keep on truckin

Bill

Hi Jerry, I do track VIX and other sentiment measures such as
EPC and all sorts of put/call ratios. Those things can be useful in
extreme situations like Bernie said. Today INDU/OEX/SPX stopped
around their 50emas...sort of expected as so many people have been
adviced to sell into any rally. Needless to say we are in a decisive
downtrend almost everywhere you look. Yet I see a tradable short-term
pop here...echoing Judy's view. Again I like to be in stocks ...
rather than indices, for examples, SUNW/GTW/GILD are breaking out
or poised to break out. Some under deep water stocks are also
interesting: DD's/ASND/SYBS/AMD. Judy and I talked about
SOX participating the next rally...I like AMAT/ALTR/TLAB.
Y2K stocks still have a lot of miles left...

Warm regards.

Jerry,

Best I can see for today is an early pop (maybe more of a poop than a pop) and a reversal day. And then down through Friday... but MAY not be any great shakes in terms of volumes and/or moves... (oops, Bernie... I don't agree with you on THIS one.)

BWDIK?

Bill
