We're getting off on a tangent. Somebody is making block buys (and sells). It is done for a purpose -- to make money. I can envision some institution with a mathematical model of profit which factors in short interest, earnings growth rate, average daily volume, TA, charting, options analysis, float, insider selling, outstanding shares, earnings report date, etc, ...

Perhaps the model says buy lots of shares now and squeeze the shorts. Perhaps this is just idle speculation...

If you don't believe me, look it up. I'll wager $10,000 on it.

That would be enough to buy him 150 shares of Yahoo!
