Inode,
So, someone needs to explain how a genetic feature is carried on to an ever growing percentage of the population, because it doesn't make a hell of a lot of sense.
There are a couple of theories that I subscribe to.

One is that the so-called "gay gene" manifests itself differently in men and women. Think about how said "gay gene" is carried from one generation to the next if it supposedly makes people less likely to have children.

The theory is that the "gay gene" in men makes them desire other men, of course. But for women, it doesn't make them desire women. Instead, it makes them like men even more. In other words, it makes them hypersexual.

(That leaves open the question of lesbianism, though, which is why this remains a theory.)

The other theory is that the "gay gene" does not automatically turn someone gay. There is a lot of research in genetics where genes lay dormant and don't actually do anything until something triggers it. I'm not sure how, but it does explain why, for example, one person can be gay and his identical twin can be straight.

In short, I really don't believe in this "genetic predestination" that the politically correct gestapo is pushing. That's why I'm asking both you and Alighieri why it should matter whether being gay is a choice or not. Personally I think we're much more in control of our own sexuality than what the mainstream media is telling us.

Either that, or pedophiles like Jared Fogle can use the "I couldn't help myself; I was born this way" excuse.
