Several thoughts about your "Beating the Dow" post.

1. The Fool-4 beat the DJIA (which includes the Fool-4 plus 26 other companies) by 9 points. The other 26 DJIA stocks, collectively, must have produced returns even lower than the NASDAQ.

2. Of course, even the other 26 DJIA stocks beat the pants off of the semiconductor index (SOXX). quote.yahoo.com^soxx&d=1y

3. 3M looks like it may make next year's list. It's probably a stock worth watching, but there's no hurry to jump in, IMO.

Best wishes,

I2

Carey, Ian, Brian, and all: Following link
nando.net
is telling me what may come out of Korean crisis. If currency is
devalued by more than 50%, assest are dirt cheap and memory makers
are barely floating. Capacity expansion of chip equipment may start
occuring in Korea instead here or in Japan or Europe. There are large
pool of engineers in SK. It's not like Mexico where only industrial
or manual labor work got shifted.

Given this situation, I wouldn't be surprised to see big US companies
opening branches and start taking advantage of this situation.

What is your opinion? After all cpital will flow where profits are
and internal problems have not much bearing on foreign companies
operation. Looking forward to your thoughts.

PS: AMAT and many others are already in SK, what if Intel opens a plant in SK? Wouldn't it save BIG bucks right away?

Regerds,

Sudhir
