I see your article was balanced and didn't conflict with the one I posted:

Keep in mind, though, that there are negative effects of smoking too much pot or using it for non-medicinal purposes. When overused or abused, pot can lead to dependency and mess with your memory and emotions.

Personally, I think one of the benefits society gets from marijuana is making goofy people less prosperous, successful, influential, and powerful. There is at least one SI pothead who once had political ambitions .... which fortunately for his adopted home state came to nothing despite lying about his political leanings. A real estate salesperson can do less damage to society (may even be socially useful by matching up would be sellers and buyers) than a legislator.

That's why I wish more liberals smoked more pot.
