Someone shot another student at TX Southern. Not the kind of shooting you are talking about. TX has long had concealed carry after you take a class and pass a background check. I believe they recently passed a law allowing open carry I presume with the same rules. I have no idea about the stadiums .... those are private venues with their own security.

Looks like Houston's zoo is now officially not a gun free zone http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2015/10/liberals_shriek_like_chimpanzees_as_houston_zoo_becomes_gunfriendly.html Speaking of open carry I see that CT is already an open carry state: Open carry with a valid pistol permit is legal statewide. Connecticut is Shall-Issue, with Limited Discretion for granting pistol permits
