Why, that's silly. The number of guns vs. people has nothing at all to do with how "civilized" we are as a people. Out of the 100s of millions of guns in our country a few thousand are used in killing people each year. It isn't good, but it doesn't suggest guns are some kind of major factor that has to be dealt with. That's crazy.
