<<<< I also think the Hang Seng is as interesting. ....i agree. but i don't think that it is a buy just because it is off lows. we need to see what they do with their mountain of bank and government (state owned industry) debt. if they deregulate and clean up banks it is a buy--otherwise they could be the next to fall! converesely most of the bad news is out in japan--can it get worse? ......i was lucky and sold my china/HK mutual fund at the peak.
