The Asian problem I most closely associate with LGND is Chinese water torture. In my dreams, I also associate LGND with C. Chan and his #1 son, but I have never been able to determine why. Any ideas (other than rereading Jung)?

What I was trying to say was that at times when the market is especially nervous over the possibilities of a general earnings decline and a worldwide economic slowdown (like with the Asian crisis) investors are even less likely than usual to put money into stocks that are not making money, even if they have a bright future.
