Not at all, Peter. The point of the collar is simply to lock in the price (within a range) while deferring the gain to the next tax year. I picked the Jan options simply because those are the ones I checked prices on, but they are in the next tax year. BTW, perhaps one could use the Jan 70 calls or some longer expiry on both sides and make it even more attractive.

PS: Do we have any securites law types out there who know what the disclosure requirements are for insiders when entering a collar? Do they file a Form 4?
