It's a fact that CO2 is essential for life on earth. It's a fact that natural processes have been removing CO2 from the atmosphere for hundreds of millions of years. It's also a fact that during the last ice age trees preserved in the La Brea tar pits were showing signs of CO2 starvation. CO2 levels fall during ice ages. It's a fact we will experience another ice age unless we can figure out a way to warm the earth. If we can boost CO2 levels before that happens, plant life will be better off and therefore so will animal life. It's a fact the optimum level of atmospheric CO2 for plant life is far far higher than we have today.
