Very well put ! Too bad the financial community cares little about such good news these days.........They are so freakin obsessed with Asia that until the numbers are proven out in Jan. we more than likely won't see much upward movement. Ridiculous !

i was watching cnbc tonight and the panel were talking about the year 2000 problem. one of the panel members said it's not only a software fix but a hardware fix also. the hardware will need to be replaced to run the new software.

do you think cpq will benefit from the sale of many new systems?

Ed......I was at our local Staples today and the store's main manager happened to be in the computer section where I was admiring the large display of CPQ computers......I asked him how the computers were moving....He said they were selling a lot of them.....I asked him about the sub-1000 unit......He said they have sold some but by far the bulk of their sales have been in the mid to high-range.....I still say after the first of the year, after buying into the market in general resumes, after CPQ's split and earnings report 2 days later we will see a post-split 30+........Maybe this has been posted already, for whatever it's worth, but First Call's most recent update on CPQ, Dec. 20th, still shows the concensus of 30+ analysts, as a Strong Buy (1.5)..........George
