Trump-911

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump broke the Republican taboo of 14-years and blamed former President George W. Bush for the attacks of September 1, 2001.

As The Washington Post reports, “Blaming 9/11 on Mr. Bush is taboo for Republicans and has largely been off-limits for Democrats,” however, in a Friday interview with Bloomberg – Trump broke ranks with Republicans suggesting that Bush was to blame for the terrorist attacks.

Bloomberg’s Stephanie Ruhle asked Trump how he would make the country feel safe and proud were he to be elected president, pointing out that Bush did so after the 9/11 attacks and Obama after the Sandy Hook tragedy.

In order to be the president of the United States, you have to be a leader in so many ways. We haven’t seen your soft hand. We’ve seen your offense, but George Bush had to stand in front of America after 9/11 – Barack Obama did after Sandy Hook.
Help us understand who Donald Trump is as a man. I need to know that you will make us feel safe you will make us feel proud.
Trump responded: “Okay, I think I have a bigger heart than all of them. I think I’m much more competent than all of them. When you talk about George Bush, I mean, say what you want, the World Trade Center came down during his time.”

Ruhle responded that Bush wasn’t to blame, telling Trump: “Hold on, you can’t blame George Bush for that.”

Trump countered: “He was President, okay? Don’t blame him or don’t blame him, but he was President. The World Trade Center came down during his reign.”

Jeb Bush, George’s younger brother who is also running for president, called Trump “pathetic” later Friday in a tweet:
