..I am certainly no Carson fan ..but I don't get that is what he was trying to say, in his disjointed style The logic of a group of unarmed people facing a gunman who will be executing all of them one by one, argues for exactly what he proposed ..the only chance one might have of survival, if you are one of the lucky ones who isn't shot first, is to do exactly what he proposes ..this doesn't take into account the sheer lunacy of living in a society where any nutcase can go to a gunshow and buy an assault weapon, but fools like Carson are incapable of understanding the larger picture

It was saying we all need to realize the thing to do in these kinds of situations is swarm the shooter before he can kill so many people. Just like with air passengers ... Ben ignores the fact that in many mass shootings, people do exactly what he advocates. About a third are ended by civilians before police arrive. A few of them were even armed. The dynamics in each situation is different, though. There are going to be situations where a mass rush isn't feasible, like people are not grouped tightly enough.
