I'll scope things out a little when I go to NAMM. There was a positive review of the Syjet in either Nov or Oct. Pro Audio Review. One thing I liked about the review was that the reviewer nicely commented on the dust door, which I really like. That makes it very quiet and with little chance of a dusty death, as my drive would have gotten without it. I suppose a call or email to these companies or dealers would indicate the current situation. E-mu is generally pretty friendly and responsive, in my experience.
