Bob, I made a typo error. I meant $4,000/month, not $3,000/month - Just realized. In CA, I thought even $4,000/month is not enough for such high tech firms.

Bob, it includes all taxes (social security), benefit, etc. The salary is not the only thing an employer pays when he hires an employee. The 1.6 times salary is the number I used to do the calculation.

Number of new employees is 775 - 650 = 125

Cost/Qrt/Employee = 3months x $4,000/month x 1.6 = $19,200 = $20 m
($4,000/month = $48,000/yr - low in CA for such a high tech firm)

Total cost = 125 x $20m = $2.5 million

Due to the low $4,000 assumption, I would incline toward $3 million figure.
