Right. It is the overall murder rate. In general, the more guns, the higher the murder rate. It is no accident that the more guns, the more likely that if there is a murder, it will be done with a gun. A big factor in murder rates is population density. Heavily populated areas tend to have a higher levels of inequality which often results in a higher level of violence. But higher density also means a more efficient economy and a higher level of economic activity. More guns don't have that effect.
