Trump Warns Rally Crowd Of President’s Impending Gun Grabbing Executive Order October 20, 2015Lanie Fields Battlegrounds, Politics Republish Reprint DONALD TRUMP GOES TO SOUTH CAROLINA AND PROCEEDS TO LIE HIS ASS OFF. Donald Trump hosted another bullshit-laced “Look At ME!” show on October 19, during which he pandered to what can only be described as a “low information” crowd. This select group of around 5,600 gathered in Anderson, South Carolina — where Trump knew that “pickings” would be easy. In an outrageous attempt to lather up the blood-red crowd, Trump flat-out bald-faced lied and said that President Obama is considering an executive order designed to take guns away from the general population. Said Trump, “You know, the president is thinking about signing an executive order where he wants to take your guns away. You hear about this?” Like shooting fish in a barrel. For the record, anyone stupid enough to believe that doesn’t need to own a gun in the first place. That kind of statement in “Bubbaland” is the equivalent of yelling “FIRE!” in a crowded theater. But The Buffoon continues to stand by his ridiculous canard — until he doesn’t. Trump said Oct. 20 on CNN’s New Day: “People were saying [Obama is] thinking about doing it. I didn’t say he’s doing it — how’s he going to do that? You have the Second Amendment (that’s big league), but he is certainly…I think he is currently thinking about doing it. “I didn’t say that he’s signing it. I said I think that would be a tough one to sign, actually. “I would say it would be impossible. But nevertheless he was thinking about it. And I’ve heard it from numerous networks. And I’ve read it in the papers. You know. My source is the papers. So, you know, they’re pretty good sources.” Those sources (most likely Fox “News) must be the same ones from which Sarah Palin culled her information. Some media reports earlier this month indicated that in the wake of the recent shooting in Oregon, the White House was reportedly eyeing executive action on gun-purchase background checks certain dealers would have to conduct. This type of legislation, beginning with the Manchin-Toomey background checks proposal in 2013, has been proposed and discussed, both on a state and federal level time and again, and shot down repeatedly by the obstructionist Republicans, who apparently enjoy hearing of mass shootings and gun violence. Thanks, NRA. Why yes, that IS blood on your hands…And now that same blood is on “the Donald’s”. So what the **** was Trump even yammering about? President Obama has never indicated he had any plans whatsoever to sign an executive order that would in any way tamper with “the holy and precious” 2nd Amendment! Nor has he proposed any further restriction on access to guns. Obama has called on Congress to pass legislation that would establish universal background checks and implement laws aimed at minimizing the number of mass shootings in the country. They won’t, primarily because their pimps aka the National Rifle Association won’t let them. Unfortunately, Trump isn’t the only one laying it on thick about our gun-grabbing President who (as far as I can tell) isn’t even running for office in 2016. On Oct. 16, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) sent out a mailing featuring a fabricated image of President Obama wearing some kind of battle helmet. “Friend, I own guns,” the Republican presidential candidate wrote. “I’m planning on keeping them. But there’s a problem. Obama is coming for our guns.” Someone should tell Ted, who really needs to shut up, that no sensible American actually likes him or cares what he has to say. Cruz’s statements came the same day a voter in New Hampshire asked Hillary Clinton if she might consider a voluntary national gun buyback program. Clinton responded that the idea, “would be worth considering doing it on the national level if that could be arranged.” Wasting virtually no time, the NRA accused Clinton of supporting “gun confiscation”. Not even close to what Clinton was suggesting, but (no) thanks for playing! It’s just further proof NRA supports and the right-wing base don’t bother with taking the time to learn the facts about gun control. Apparently, the truth just isn’t scary enough to justify their paranoia. It’s far more preferable for such persons to believe whatever half-truths and outright lies will send them skittering to their nearest gun store to stockpile more weapons. As for Trump, Alisyn Camerota, host of CNN’s New Day, informed the Republican frontrunner that a United States president — as stated by the U.S. Constitution — cannot sign an executive order actually taking away guns from Americans. Trump’s response? “Well, he can’t sign an executive order on immigration, either, and he did.” Sorry, Donald. Wrong again. Trump backpedaled further, claiming that at a minimum, President Obama, “has certainly not been pro-Second Amendment.” Again, incorrect. President Obama is probably the most “gun friendly” president we’ve had in years. Lie…backpedal…lie more…backpedal still more. What a way to run a campaign! …Too bad for Trump it’s not the way to run a country.
