I'm sure they'll be very positive in January because of all the calendar stuff, and since everyone will be thinking that the market is low which = buying opportunity. And those season issues are also why inflows slow down in December (fund distributions, taxes, etc.). PS. I also think you're right on about how 1998 capital gains selling is going to hit 1997's big gainers. So I'm after DELL for that, but also have to be weary of the inflow counterbalance in January, so it's not exactly a no-brainer play.
