>> I DON'T doubt that Bush ONLY invaded Iraq because he wanted to do better than his father and he listened to guys like the "draft dodger" Cheney because he was TOO stupid and too spoiled his entire life to really CARE or KNOW what the ramifications might be.

The problem, of course, is that your rationale is demonstrably wrong. We know that. You've been made aware of it. The facts which led to the US invasion of Iraq are exceptionally well documented by numerous people who were there and NOT ONE has ever suggested it had anything to with the threat on GHWB's life.

And in fact, the personal letter GWB faxed to his dad on the morning of the invasion made it clear enough: "In spite of the fact that I had decided a few months ago to use force, if need be, to liberate Iraq and rid the country of WMD, the decision was an emotional one."

It defies reason that when Bush sent this [handwritten] note to GHWB he would have "known" at the time to base the letter on WMDs. And in fact, when GHWB wrote him back, he said, "You are doing the right thing," -- this, in spite of the fact that GHWB had stated the cost of removing Saddam would be exceptionally high (both dollars and human) and that was the principal reason he gave for not doing it in '91.

Bottom line, you are preferring to believe what amounts to TALES told in most disreputable media accounts. Further, if you happen to have read Bob Woodward's series of books on "Bush at War" this claim was thoroughly discounted.

The bottom line is that you're choosing to act like bentway and some of the others here who care not at all about the facts and only have your personal bias at play.

As to Cheney, he is a fine man with whom you have a difference of opinion. One of the most honorable men of highest integrity ever to have served the country. And no one in his right mind would refer to him as "stupid" -- he ran a highly successful international company very successfully between GWHB & GWB's presidencies.

I know you are capable of being less biased. I recommend you read up in the truthful media about these men if you care to know what happened. While you're at it I recommend you find out about Condi Rice, another great from the GWB administration. God, how I long for that kind of competence.

I really doubt that Obama KNEW they were going to hit a hospital in Syria.
Dimwit. The US chain of command has admitted they knew it was a hospital. Obomber apologized. The ONLY thing up for discussion is why the US openly committed a war crime.
