Early releases of complex products are always buggy. Usually, if your using a x.0 release of anything your asking for trouble (although we are considering Developer/2000 2.0 which looks pretty strong). We have been using Oracle Case and now Designer/Developer 2000 for many years. They are in much better shape now than ever.

If you are going to use Oracle tools, you need a very disciplined approach or your project will die a horrible death. Part of the art is to get as close to the bleeding edge as you can without getting cut. It's not like running a spreadsheet program. If early releases don't have bugs, then they probably aren't pushing the envelope.

As far as this "silly NC" project goes, I think next year will be crucial because Oracle Financials are only now rolling out with this architecture. Until now, businesses have had no reason to buy NC's. If this architecture works, it could provide a compelling reason to buy financials.

Robert--- look at Billy G's stuff. I am using Win 95. Will NOT bother with 98 until the version following that arrives. Win 95 is often a pain in the neck--- as for IE (internet exploder), thanks I will keep Netscape. Many software mfgs expect updates. McAfee updates minimum once each year but has always been more often to keep up with new virus' that show up.
