BY, anyone, noticed the feverish pace of domestic and intl mergers these past two weeks? This seems to be what Wall Street is hanging its hat on.

Anyone have a take?

One I read about in particular was interesting. Citibank and a group of other banks from various countries are buying $2.38 bill in bad Japansese debt in a "bet that real estate prices in Japan will turn around."

Seems like shades of numerous other instances in the history of our executive branch the past 20 years. Private banks are asked to do certain favors and certain favors are done them in return.

BY-- It is already to late. The cards have been dealt, and now the chips are falling. I think the more important question will be who will bail out the out of work American worker. I am looking out 12-24 months. Might happen sooner, but no way to have an accurate time frame.

Gold futures have been very slowly creeping upward, being led by silver. Interesting.
