Moonbat Tech: Solar-Powered Lights That Only Work When They Are Not Needed
Good thing taxpayers have plenty of money for their environmentally righteous moonbat rulers to
waste:

German ZDF public television recently had a story about how this summer the town of Gescher in the Muensterland region of North Rhine Westphalia installed new solar powered street lamps for the handsome sum of 28,000 euros (roughly $32,000). The 5 lamps are supposed to illuminate a 1500-meter stretch of a bicycle/pedestrian path to make it safe for children on the way to a sports facility.

They are powered by the sun, and only work when the sun is shining. As the ZDF reporter notes:

“…the new designer lamps have one very decisive disadvantage: When it’s nighttime in Muensterland, the expensive lamps unfortunately remain dark.”

Gescher burgermeister Thomas Kerkhoff argues that “five lamps are better than no lamps,” even if the five lamps stay off due to insufficient sunlight during nighttime hours.

Polar bears don’t use streetlights anyway, so it doesn’t matter that the batteries don’t work. The important thing is the lack of harmless CO2 emissions.

It’s the moonbatty gesture that counts.

I've been thinking about your broken landline phone. I know cell phones can be challenging for your generation, but may you could get one of your kids to help you get a jitterbug. They're advertised as being perfect for stuck in the mud old coots like you:

"My Friends Hate Their Cell Phones...

- Lillian J., Tucson, AZ

A simple cell phone made for those of us that grew up when phones were connected by wires.

The Jitterbug 5 cell phone is designed to be a simple cell phone, not some sort of alien technology that you need to decipher in order to use it. You’ll hear a familiar dial tone that tells you that the Jitterbug is ready for you to make a call. When you’re ready to dial, you can use the large, easy-to-see keys or simply tell your Jitterbug who to call. Its voice dialing capabilities will connect you with the right person.

You most likely have seen kids feverishly searching for power outlets to charge their gadgets. You won’t have to do that with your Jitterbug cell phone. It has amazing battery life between charges with up to 25 days of standby time.

Even the advanced features are easy to use if you choose to take advantage of them. Menus use simple Yes or No buttons instead of some cryptic icons. And, if you need help, friendly U.S.-based operators can be reached simply by dialing "0" anytime...day or night.
