First of all the data is quite noisy and the chart scales do change from version to version. Secondly data corrections and methods change as the science is changing. It's easy for them to pick up on minor differences in data from version to version and cry foul.

They have a whole industry built around just making shit up and pretending it is real. And it pays real well.
