You evidently discovered the term on or about 8/29/13 About that. a date since which you have repeatedly used the term to describe pretty much anyone who has disagreed with you. Wrong. I use it to describe those who think skimming a site that is anti-science makes them an expert in the field. You exhibit this when it comes to climate change and some other areas like economics. Bruce is a great example, though. He is an ardent creationist. He was once arguing about the immutability of species and how we haven't observed one species turning into another. The thing is, we have. To a biologist, when you have two populations who don't interbreed for whatever reason, you have two species. Because unless they interbreed, they will drift apart until they are no longer interfertile. Bruce didn't like that, so he concluded that biologists were using the term "species" wrong. Which is an astounding bit of mental gymnastics. The term "species" is part of a biologists technical vocabulary. To claim that they are using it wrong is, well, strange.

His feelings are hurt from being mocked about his claim to know that Andrew Breitbart hacked an innocent Anthony Weiner ... which claim fell apart spectacularly when Weiner confessed and publicly apologized. He actually disappeared from SI for a good while after that. There've been some other things .. catching him mistaking CNG and LNG, etc. His problem is he makes Cliff Clavin type statements of certainty with little or no knowledge about a subject and then is embarrassed when contrary facts come out. Being made a fool publicly when you're pretending to be an all knowing pundit .. that produces a lasting wound in a sensitive boy.
