Right-Wing Domestic Terrorist Bombs A Wal-Mart To Protest End Of Confederate Flag Sales by Colin Taylor • November 2, 2015 SHARETWEET A domestic right-wing terrorist bombed a Mississippi Wal-Mart on Sunday, November 1st, in protest over the retail giant’s decision to no longer sell Confederate flags and other associated paraphernalia. There were no casualties. Marshall W. Leonard, 61, is facing a life sentence for throwing an explosive device into a Wal-Mart at 1:30 AM. He allegedly warned an employee on break, and told him to run, as reports the Tupelo Daily Journal. “The employee did run and was away from harm when the package went off. It wasn’t a large explosion. It didn’t cause a lot of damage to the store” said Tupelo Police Chief Bart Aguirre. Leonard had posted threats on a Facebook page a few days before. “Journal corporate, you are on final warning,” he wrote on Oct. 28. “You are part of the problem. As a result of this, y’all are going down, along with Walmart, WTVA, Reeds department store, and all the rest of the anti-American crooks. I’m not kidding. No messing around anymore!” Local television reports that this man was so obsessed that he was “kicked out of the Confederate flag advocacy group Mississippi On Guard in August after protesting at a Tupelo City Council meeting while being draped in the flag” – because his wearing of the flag was “a desecration” of the sacred symbol of American white supremacy. While we are all very lucky nobody was harmed, this destruction is extremely worrying. These kinds of attacks are occurring with alarming frequency, especially in the South. The battle for equality is far from over, and the threat of the militarization of the far-right cannot be understated. __________________
