>> Arkansas remains the only state from the former Confederacy never to elect an African-American to Congress or any statewide office -

In the time I've lived here I have never known a black candidate to run for any statewide office or for Congress in my district. If a black man or woman ran for office here they would get the same consideration they do in any other place. In southeast Arkansas they'd stand a good chance of winning, as in Little Rock. But not in NW Arkansas.

Just like everywhere else in the country. Black voters are biased in favor of black candidates. White voters generally will vote for the candidate they believe is going to "do something for them."

It is why the country is going to crap.
