Opal-Price action Terrible Today--Lows in February? Ughhhhhh

If February 1998, is indeed the cycle low--it could get very depressing on this thread. Hope we are near it now--but who knows how many individuals or institutions are out there, willing to blow it out at any price! A somber thought.

I've got to agree with opalapril here.

This (and excuse me for bringing up the football analogy here...Bay fans will enjoy) reminds me of Steve Young and the 49ers. For years Steve Young had a monkey on his back...following Joe Montana. He finally won the Super Bowl with his own 49er team and the monkey got thrown off. He had some great seasons before that but he needed to win it all to prove himself.

This is Xoma in a nutshell. They have their own monkey (E5 failure) which came at a time when biotech stocks were the hottest cup in town. A lot of people got burned including some big boys on the street. If not with XOMA then with Centocor, Synergen, etc...

I think this has left a bad, lingering memory which won't be gone until those Phase 3 results come in and are submitted and we get approval. However, I as a current investor think this is a chance to take advantage of the Street once again. We can take advantage of this situation by buying on the dips and waiting patiently.

Please forgive my rambling about monkeys and I would like to wish everyone on the board and at XOMA a Happy Holiday season.

God Bless. JF
