The ski areas around Tahoe and No. Cal. opened this week after they got 1-3 ft. of snow... fwiw, we skipped fall this year, having a record hot Oct. (broke old record by 2 full degrees with mean temp for the month at 77)... only one day in Oct. high was less than 70... overall, temps averaged 7-10 degrees above normal around the county... however, last night we saw lows around 40, though today's high might hit 70, our typical fall weather would be highs in the high 60s with lows in the 40s... the good news for us is that the fire season has been officially declared over in SoCal with all of the recent rains -- we didn't have much fire activity here in San Diego this year at all, despite this being (overall for the state and the West in general) a record year for wildfires... it's been a very unusual year here.
