Michael; I was referring to the heat gain loss of the occupants for comfort reasons. Normal cars have so much waste heat that heating is easy, air con costs a few % extra. But a battery car does not want to waste power into resistors for heat, so super insulation is the way to go to minimze/remoce any need for extra heat/cooling as much as possible.

I am aware of the Carnot ratio limits., and the fact that fuel cells are not carnot limited, they are however usually operating away from full reversibility and do not reach 100% Hybrids are a form of averagingso the engine can run at it best efficiency and the battery/fuel cell(operating reversibly of course)/flyweheel act as peak demand servers for the car.
