Brian: You have a number of good points. My company doesn't allow cable modem access because of the security issues. The Internet does pose some security issues for any of the access technologies, but cable has an additional problem in the neighborhood. I'm just making light of that fact. For the most part encryption isn't being used today. Granted some WWW sites are using SSL, but most don't. I think ADSL and Cable will be used but one advantage of ADSL is security... until later.
