They didn't "get on board". They spent millions lobbying for it after they wrote it. It's a corporate bi-partisan shafting of the American public. The single payer meme is a Republican smoke screen. Obama had SP advocates arrested when they protested in DC. The co-ops were meant to fail leaving the public forced to buy from Kaiser, BC et al. at ever higher rates with ever diminishing care. and that is what is happening. The wealth redistribution under the ACA is stealing from the middle class and engorging the pockets of the 1%
