..true that

but he is the modern embodiment of what the repubican party is

..why he will win the nomination unless the GOP fat cats come up with the cash to ransom the party from the clown

Storied science fiction writer H.P. Lovecraft offers this appraisal in 1936

Things haven't changed much....

"As for the Republicans — how can one regard seriously a frightened, greedy, nostalgic huddle of tradesmen and lucky idlers who shut their eyes to history and science, steel their emotions against decent human sympathy, cling to sordid and provincial ideals exalting sheer acquisitiveness and condoning artificial hardship for the non-materially-shrewd, dwell smugly and sentimentally in a distorted dream-cosmos of outmoded phrases and principles and attitudes based on the bygone agricultural-handicraft world, and revel in (consciously or unconsciously) mendacious assumptions (such as the notion that real liberty is synonymous with the single detail of unrestricted economic license or that a rational planning of resource-distribution would contravene some vague and mystical 'American heritage'…) utterly contrary to fact and without the slightest foundation in human experience? Intellectually, the Republican idea deserves the tolerance and respect one gives to the dead."

Letter to C.L. Moore (August 1936), quoted in "H.P. Lovecraft, a Life" by S.T. Joshi, p. 574

Re your <<Trump is a Chump,imo.
He will never get elected President of the US>> circa 2015 11 08

in reaction to what I noted to

<<sure looks like trump is the best choice amongst clinton and carson

am sure everything will work out
>>

Elroy's

<<"This is the first time in the history of the world where a politician is running on the basis that he tried to stab someone and people are saying he's not credible."

...

I have never before seen such a circus.>>

which in turn was in reaction to my Message 30309355 <<sure looks like trump is the best choice amongst clinton and carson

am sure everything will work out>> circa 2015 11 08

would say you were wrong, that trump was elected, and I was not wrong, as everything did work out, albeit we must redefine 'work out'
