Do you have any idea of how dry things have been? The mountains have risen about a half an inch due to lack of groundwater.There is an estimated 240 gigatons of missing groundwater. You don't make that up in a single season.

The last El Nino in '98 overfilled all the reservoirs and aquifers in Northern California and it only took one El Nino.
