United is terrible. Miles expire.

I like Alaska a lot.

My favorite airline.

I fly Southwest. Bags are free, can use miles at any time.

My company puts me with whatever airline they can get the cheapest flight from (or at least whichever from a selection of several, its always been United, Delta, or American). Since they split it up I've never gotten enough miles for a free flight any ware I want. The miles from them from last time around (Dec 12 to Aug 13) have mostly expired, and I haven't had enough trips this time.

The one exception to the expiration is Delta. Delta miles never expire. Maybe in trade for that they make them harder to use (judging by your experience with them).

In other news they are hiring me as an employee now. I had been a contractor. 75 cents less an hour, but I get paid holidays, PTO, and other benefits. Also its likely to be more a more stable employment situation going forward.

In 2012-2013 they had a large upgrade cycle to do, and they hired a bunch of contractors to get it done. I was one of them. They were all let go when it was done. In February they needed someone, and I got the job since I had worked with them before.
