Well, hell, nobody can really improve on Milton Friedman.

The reality is this topic cannot be explained to liberals. Lord knows, I've tried it for years. I don't know what it is -- some kind of left brain, right brain thing or something. Or there is just a piece of brain that isn't there, I don't know.

But they can't grasp it.

I can't believe that chart.

I don't have any real data to back it up it's just anecdotal evidence but since sine the internet came into its own around 1995 I HAVE to believe new businesses have sprung up at a record rate.

We're discussing this on Silicon Investor and I believe that's been a new business since 1995.

Amazon only exists because of the internet.

It has nothing to do with politics but I CAN'T believe there hasn't been an INCREDIBLE growth in new business since the advent of the internet and that has only happened in the last 20 years.

There is no financing for the smallest businesses, which we had available in the 80s I could get loans for almost any of my clients if they had a little money or collateral. Today, you have to do an IPO which costs an arm and a leg or get loans from private sources. Or "kickstarter".

I do think it was a good move by the SEC to allow stock to be issued through online operations. I think it does have the possibility of providing financing but is likely to bring about some people throwing money at really, really crappy ideas.
