Mohan,

Good article. It shows that price reductions are effective in capturing market share from competitors. It also demonstrates that there is little brand name loyalty in the first tier manufacturers.

I have been expecting CPQ subzero share to drop as the competiton heats up and it has. I think it will stay at around 30% for the next few quarters.

Unfortunately, the article does not mention IBM or the no-name manufacturers who are definitely in the channel. Also, there is no mention of the fact that INTC is manufacturing OEM computers which are being sold in the retail channel. They are very good boxes too!
