So maybe he's bright but not truthful or writes to get attention and hits with TRUTHFUL facts being secondary?

It sounds like he is unhappy that you don't get folders to open by holding your mouse over them... but I've found I can put my folders there and have them open on my second screen. From that "task folder" I have links to websites with info I need to update as well as shortcuts to my Word and Excel files where I'l update my articles and spreadsheets with the data. To me, that is more useful since it stays open.

It would be nice if you held the mouse over the folder that its contents would popup so you could click it... like you do by making toolbar folders on the task bar. I had that feature with my Windows 7 PC "Dell Dock" program that seems to be a custom version of "Stardock" that Dell no longer has a license for so I'd have to pay $10 or so to get a program that would do it. It is possible that Stardock has a patent on that feature which is why Windows can't use it... I wish MSFT would buy them and add it as a feature of W10... but for now I'm using what W10 offers.

Anyway, I tend to believe he is bright but he was not truthful when he said there was little you could do to customize the Start Menu and that the advertising apps were an issue... just delete them or move them off the default screen for Pete's sake!

FWIW, I got an i7 W10 touchscreen laptop for my girlfriend and I'm amazed at how quickly she's found ways to do things but she still prefers her Galaxy S5 phone for most tasks.
