Are you sure the MR engineers are for product testing? As in end
of the development cycle testing, and we are about ready to ship.
The following link lists the IOM job listing for MR experience.
After reading it I can not come to the conclusion that IOM is just looking for MR product testing.

I agree. And we don't know, at least I don't know, what IOM plans
are for MR.

True. Besides, Iomega does not design MR heads. There is very
little to learn to switch from using TFI heads to using
MR heads. The main difference is that the R/W electronics now have to supply a bias current for the MR element of the head. As long as
Iomega tells the head manufacturer what track and bit density they want, the supplier knows how to tweak the MR head design.
