Kim Jong Un is fearful for his safety and the safety of his regime. If he had a treaty with the U.S. that is ratified by the u.s. senate, his safety would be guaranteed by u.s. law. A treaty with north korea would also end the korean war and also allay fears by China of a unified korea under south korean control.

A peace treaty with the u.s. would end the korean war and help solve north korea's, and China's problems.
