I say that after every attack. I said that after 9/11. Not many people listened to me, though :-) But I'm a divider, not a uniter. I tend to call people pussies when they wet their panties over terrorism, and think terrorism (which, like the poor, will ever be with us) "changes" everything. Bullshit. Terrorism changes nothing. It is. It was. And it will be. You do what you can to prevent it, and you realize life isn't ever guaranteed. And, if you're me, you look with loathing on the people who get so hysterical that they want to give up our freedoms, or kill innocents, so they can pretend to themselves they're "safer".

Just finished reading today's Krugman NYTimes column. One of his better pieces. He's precisely right in his criticism of folk like Jeb Bush who invoke the end of western civilization in all this.

Krugman, thanks, great article, but common sense. A commodity we have too little of. the ME never did and never will be an existential threat to us. Never, that is such nonsense. The most they can every do is bloody our nose. Lest some forget Hillary and Kerry voted for the war, though, in Iraq because they put their finger in the wind and felt it would end their political careers if they voted against it. They also remember what happened to Morse and Gravel when the voted against Tonkin Gulf. That stpid vot was 98 to 2. American's will be stupid again and if we don't run Hillary the Hawk a pub will win, IMO. That is the hard core reality as I see it.
