The deepwater list seems to be featuring those companies that will have strongest sequential earnings growth in the next quarter or two--NE, SDC, FLC, etc.
DO, though a fine company, will likely have a weaker quarterly comparison this quarter due to a rig out of commission.

Don' know--got dat one,me(DO). I'll try to find out--but I suspect Baird's guess is right. After this report, tho', they got mega earnings coming up.
The Rauscher guys say forget the price of oil, down to 15, anyway--they say the contracts are in for 2-3 years, deepwater drilling like this just wasn't possible before; and it wasn't falling prices that busted up the drilling party last time, it was skyrocketing prices that choked off demand.
AS for the recent market action--hey, buddies!--when der's a thunderstorm, do you ask what accounts for each clap of thunder? Even if the forecast is for sunshine tomorrow, dat rain'll still get you wet!( Dem damned funds got to report every year, etc.)
Me, I'm lookin' for dat ol' gentleman with the whiskers, even if he don' come till next year.
