John, Just a friendly warning. Try not to get too caught up with which house is doing what to who and why...It'll drive you nuts eventually and you will begin to lose sight of the bigger picture.

I can call up my broker in Vancouver and ask him to execute a "jitney" sell order. So if my broker was at Canaccord (35) he could sell the stock through Haywood (26) or any of a couple of dozen other houses with seats on the Vancouver Stock Exchange. In other words WYS ISNOT WYG on the Vancouver Stock Exchange.

Along with the almost complete lack of short sale disclosure on the VSE, this Jitney option is another area in which the VSE needs to clean up its act.

I bet you never read this type of information in the Financial Paste!

John: Surething is bang on, when he says not to look at each and every trade...

IMO, the trick of short term trading, is to look at the overall picture of the trading patterns, over a 3 or 4 hour period of time...Doesn't matter who's buying or selling...It matters which way the underlying trends are going....That will tell you where the market sentiment is...Which will assist you in your buy/sell decisions...

For a longer hold period of time, I use the House Positions to see which house are accumulating...

On the daily side I use the House Positions just as an overall view as to what happened during the day (easier than posting all the trades)...

Merry Christmas and best wishes to you and your family...May we have a prosperous New Year...
