You do realize that Volker and his policies were instituted by Carter and continued by Reagan?

Carter and Reagan raised interest rates?

A fellow named Bill just pointed that out to me.

At the time I wasn't really following things that closely. I was building houses for a while with a small crew and we kinda went under. I kinda went broke so I haven't really concentrated on the factors involved. I tried to forget it all.

But now, I realize that Carter himself started the whole interest rate squeezing process.

How DUMB was it for Carter to do that? Why would he do that?

If he wanted to get re-elected that was the Worst thing he could do.

You do realize that without Reagan's fiscal policy Volcker would have been nowhere?

You had to get the economy rolling again. It was Reagan who did that.
