It's been a long time since we were in Belgium. Specifically in Brussels---------Brussels was using foreign drivers not Belgians to take fares and manage the trams that went up and down the streets of Brussels. We stayed at a Pension and was told we could ask for a transfer with no extra cost. When we did so the driver cussed us out in his language for being American. A Gentleman, Belgian,who got on at the same stop------- heard the conversation and came forward and told the driver to comply. Then he , the gentleman apologized in English to us. And, said that Belgium has started hiring these foreigners who are extremely rude to everyone. Your message sparked that memory. mj
