If the grid contains some solar and wind, it's not 100% solar or wind. I told Rat you couldn't smelt aluminum using ONLY solar or wind energy and showed that none is being smelted using only those energy sources. That is the issue. Can you run a modern economy on only solar or wind? The answer is no, but Rat doesn't like that. The issue isn't can you use a bit of solar and wind energy in a larger grid powered by other sources. The answer to that is yes.
